New owner Jay Livingston stated in a newspaper article that if the track isn’t allowed to open this year, the track may not exist....WOW !!!......The Sportsnats and points meet doubleheader appears to be in serious jeopardy. It is scheduled in July....

The local paper likes to portray the doom side of just about everything. There will be an update today after he meets with the county. I will share any news once I talk to him.

Correct, I do not believe he was saying the sky was falling. He was merely stating that a business like his has finite money in the checking account, and if it's not able to open then that money will eventually run out....like every other small business in the country....

Exactly. The PPP is 2.5 months of your annual payroll expenses. Not anything else, just payroll. And if you use it for something else you have to pay it back. It helps, don't get me wrong, but customers walking through the door of a restaurant/bar/retail store/racetrack/golf course, etc is what's going to keep these businesses going after this is calmed down

I think Jay is just telling it like it is, hopefully if the people in power hear it enough they will get off their podiums and let stuff open.

Well Jay met with them today and it doesn't seem like there was much progress, but it's still unfolding as we speak.
Golf courses have been open for weeks!!! How can it possibly make any sense that a dragstrip is not able to operate? I think any track operator could effectively hold a race with the cooperation of the racers following the latest version of the daily rules from the Emperor of Ohio. I'm not talking a national or divisional event right now... i'm talking a 50-100 car event (like the Buckeye S/SS series) that takes place on property that is well over 100 acres. The local Lowe's is allowed 800 people by law. Really? Guess what? If you don't feel safe, stay home! No one is making you go anywhere, but allow us that want the opportunity to recover from this mess the opportunity to do so. People are being financially and emotionally drained, and it's past time to start the recovery IMO! |

Unfortunately still waiting. Definitely not a go as this point. Drag racing is considered an entertainment entity to the state, so they are not released to start.
Maybe if we all brought golf clubs to the track.... |
