Well we are here for the national open starting tomorrow, and then the national event starting on Friday! We arrived on Monday afternoon and got parked immediately (in the rocks and dirt). Weather is supposed to be wonderful all week. It was a little chilly this morning (48), but 80s this afternoon. All week is high 40s to 50s at night and 70-85 during the day with no rain. Not many here yet so plenty of parking space!!
More later. |

It's supposed to hit 90F for a high on Wednesday, then cool off to the 70s for highs after the front comes through. No rain forecast for the rest of the week.

Starting off with a nice morning today. Going to be 90 this afternoon. For those of us running the National open, we get 2 hits today starting at 1. Then 1 run tomorrow , then eliminations.
Info for coming in—you enter at Gate 20, in case the sign is blown over like it was when we got here! I think that is the normal for here. We have only been here twice. First time was the big Super Collider fiasco way back when, and then 2 years ago when it was so dusty, then it rained and turned into huge mud puddles and we said we wouldn’t come back and yet here we are—having a great time!! Things change and you just gotta go with the flow!! Anyway, y’all come on down and have fun!! Patsy |

No time slips information is on the phones. At first I thought what a pain in the as, but it makes researching your opponent real easy.
Track was a little iffy for some first hit for the combo race. We made some adjustments for the second hit and 60’ came back to what they were in St Louis. It was pot luck dinner at Joe and Kate Harper’s last night. The menu was: perfectly seasoned grilled pork chops provided by Mike and Barbara McMahan and cooked by Joe, home grown tomatoes, big old flat green beans like your mom made, a just enough spice potato casserole that was just great and made you say WOW, plus the store bought potato salad and coleslaw. Desert was home made buttermilk pie with whipped cream. Life is good. I will let Patsy tell y’all about the adult beverages after she gets up. Last edited by Larry Hill; 10-15-2020 at 10:03 AM. |

So, are there any Stock/SS Q-lists posted anywhere ?
![]() Didn't see anything on DRC or live timing. Would just like to see what Stock & SS cars are entered. Haven't seen anybody else ask. So, I thought maybe everybody but me knows where to find this info. |

There were about 45 combo cars. I never saw a qualifying sheet. It was random pairing first round, then qualified by reaction time in that round. We got beat 3rd round by the winner—Dale Hulquist. Congrats to Dale!!
It has been windy all day with dropping temperatures. By morning it is supposed to be 48 degrees. We start out with super street at 9:30 in the morning . We found a great restaurant just down the road this afternoon . Bluebonnet Barbq. Really good!! |

without qualifying sheets second round was real exciting. Ladder was formatted from reaction times. So we did not know we had a heads up run with Will Carrell second round, Will did know and he did removed weight in his pits. For us it was a scramble to get the car ready for a heads up run, thank goodness we removed the weight box at the shop. The race was anticlimactic Will spun the tires.
We lost to the winner Dale Hulquist next round. Dale was .017 and dead on with a .001, needless to say I could not get in that window. Last edited by Larry Hill; 10-16-2020 at 07:18 AM. |
