Default 70 Chevelle BBC Alternator Bracket Help

We have a 1970 Chevelle SS (396) that we are using a Powermaster XS Dual volt Alternator (pt# 8-8978 2-bolt)

The Low mount bracket with this kit prevents belt adjustment due to the alternator coming in contact with the steering box...

Any suggestions or experiences for an alternator bracket for this application, or are we forced to build our own?

Thanks in Advance

ICT Billet makes a nice low mount that works with most Electric water pumps. (CSR, meziere, proform, etc) uses the lower pulley spacing for LWP.
I have one mounted on my car at home. I can post pics later if needed. It also doesn't mount to the head for ease at teardown. I'm using an East Coast Alternator for reference.
