Red face fuel pressure gauge??

OK guys need input.....I'm going to put a new aeromotive fuel pump & bypass regulator on the car. Question is .....is it better to have a mech. or elec. fuel pressure gauge?? Right now their is NO gauge on or in the car! I was looking @ Jeg's & they have a neet looking elec. gauge that I can put in the dash.....but are they as good as mech.? Thanks Greg

If the response time on the electric gauge is quick, I'd say it would be a plus to the isolator and plumbing involved in the mechanical gauge.....but if it is slow, it would be useless.

Let us know what you find out.

Any gauge that you can't read at the critical time you need it isn't of much use IMO. Most mech. fuel pressure gauges I've seen are erratic as the needle flops back and forth, even the liquid dampened ones. If you want an easy to read gauge at the top end, get a digital with large LED numbers and put it where you can just flick your eyes towards it. Maybe next to the tach. I use a Cyberdyne graduated in 1/2 pound increments.
