Speed Pro/ Seal Power piston question

Are the SBC Speed Pro/ Seal Power pistons specified as the NHRA approved replacement pistons, FORGED aluminum or are they Hypertic silicone aluminum?
Anybody know for sure???

Ever since TRW was bought out by Dana Corp in the early 2000s and
production was moved to India and Mexico, I have been disappointed
in the quality control and machining of their product!

For a stock eliminator car = I would invest the money in a top quality
piston.

L 2256F old TRW number I believe

That L2256F is a forged flat top w/ 4 valve reliefs, to fit a 350

SDT1DYI ? … Realistically the new Speed-Pro / Sealed Power pistons are not what they use to be. In several cases we have found them to be quite heavy and sizing to be inconsistent. In regards to Forged or Hypereutectic it depends on the accepted part number. In one case I ordered a forged part number and the pistons arrived with the correct number etched into the tops, but were Hypereutectic. MB

Is there any way one can tell a Forged SP piston from a Hyperutectic one, short of a part number.?
Box says forged and I understand the Forged piston is not available any longer. These have been on the shelf for 2-3 years.

You can pretty much tell by looking at them. The hypers are a cast piston and you can see the casting marks. If you aren't sure post a picture. The L2256's are forged and are definitely still available.

Thanks everyone for the info. I'm pretty sure their Forged. I would post a picture if i could figuire out how to do it.
