tuning chips

I was very saddened to just learn that Ed wright had passed. He was a great racer and friend. He was my Go To guy, and I had bought a tuning chip from him a couple of years ago for a Pontiac GTA. I just acquired a nice 99 firebird 6 cylinder street car for my son, and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a performance tune that could be easily installed. I was looking at maybe one of the OBD-2 units which might be the best way to go in this situation to pick it up some. thanks
