ATI super F. Or Royal purple. Amsoil also makes the list.

I have been running the Amalie Type F with great results. Was $47 a case shipped to your door. Looks the same when drained as it did when put in.

Me too. I found it for 55 a case shipped. And after 80 runs with a 7" converter and a trans brake, no trans cooler, and it looks like new when drained.

So,

I have a Question regarding Type F fluid

I have cases of old Type F in round cans, anyone care to share info if it's still good to use after all these years or what to do with it? Some in basement some in back of garage stacked high, still in original boxes.

Thanx in advance

I bought it direct from Amalie. Setup an account from their website and order.

I will add that the gears, clutches, bearings, etc. are all perfect after running the fluid. Granted we have short intervals with all the gearing we have tried but definitely works!

Always Type F dino oil here. Valvoline (Carquest) Type FA. The Carquest stuff is gone, replaced by Fram at Advance stores. Reported to be made by Amalie, or was.

I like Amsoil stuff and tried their Multi Vehicle Synthetic Street ATF once. Heat streaks on the clutch plates made me not use it again. They do a Super Shift Synthetic Type F, but I've never tried it. The plain Type F was cost effective, as I serviced my stuff regularly, wasn't making a ton of power, and never saw any fluid related issues.

Some of the trick, secret squirrel stuff is rumored to be repackaged John Deere Hy-Gard hydraulic oil which seems to be the ticket in applications like Pro Mod. I've even heard of people experimenting with shock oil.

Honestly, most of the guys I know in S/SS just go to WalMart and get their Super Tech Type F and service their stuff regularly. Probably as good as anything in a sub-800-900 HP unit with decent parts. And it doesn't break the bank to change it regularly.

Any tranny (transmission, have to specify these days) guys have any better info, that would be helpful.

I swapped to John Deere on my bracket because converter was way to loose on nitrous. It tightened up 200 rpms on the graph.
The replay tach on stocker showed about 150rpm drop on converter and it has metric 200.
