Now that it seems that 3 speeds will be legal for cars that only came with 2 speeds this request has now been made as I knew it would
[quote= all the great news about powerglide cars getting three speeds, it looks to me, now would be a good time to change the rule so 55-57 chevy superstock stick cars would be allowed four speeds to be used instead of three speeds.... , I have talked to others across the country that run these cars and we all agree.this will bring more parity with other combos, in these stick classes. any thoughts or comments would be appeciated, [/QUOTE] Now I think it's only fair that since Ford eventually put a 5 speed in the Mustang I want to use the same line of thinking that got us to this point "I Want a 5 Speed" I think the older Mustangs are at a dis-advantage now.

I'll email NHRA in your behalf if you'll do the same for me to run a 401 in my Gremlin. Wow just think what Stock will be in 2 or 3 years. Ed F.

My brother has a Ford Maverick he is building a 289 SS engine to run GT/LA . He already runs it with a Boss 302. Can he put an Auto behind the Boss Engine even though it is a Stick only class? Now that we have this bastard rule in place?

Todd, It seems that using NHRA Logic or "Lack There Of" he could probably use an Allison 6-speed auto from an F-350, It might be a little heavy but since NHRA's giving out gears "Take as Many" as you can.

In the past, there has been allowances given to cars that were stick only, to run an auto when the same model was also available with an automatic within the same family. This was the case when the 1967 Ford Fairline with the 427-2-4BBL, was allowed to run an automatic because it was available in other Fairline big block cars. As I understand, there are similar cases with Corvette's and other models that were also stick only and allowed to run an automatic.

SSDiv6, It's not being proposed that Stick or Auto in a combo is in question, It's "Why does a combo" get a Change?
