Can someone who remembers Larry Morrgan's Jegs ride, back when he was in his "PRE"-Pro Stock period explain what kind of class he ran? The car had a Pontiac Iron Duke 4-cylinder engine, and was a "Jeg's" sponsored car.
I believe it ran in Super Stock Eliminator. Thanks very much for any information. Bill

Bob Rice was good enough to send me a picture of the Jeg's Fiero in question, but FED has the answer I was looking for. You are both right, I think, but I was pretty sure he drove the T-1000 for a while in Modified Compact (Super Stock Eliminator) for Jeg's before he went on to drive Pro Stockers.
It had the Iron Duke, by virtue of NHRA bending the rule to allow "corporate engines" in that class, even thought the rulebook stipulated "must use original engine." I guess Jeg's got a letter from Jim Wangers... THANKS for the information; I REALLY appreciate it!!! Bill

I don't think he was sponsored by Jegs either.
I thought it was Castrol and Rod shop. Chip |

If you'll look on page 72 of the 1998 rule book, you'll see a picture of that T-1000 and a largish "JEG'S" logo on the door, on the beginning page of Modified Compact rules.
Gues I had my "Larry's" mixed up, too... Could have sworn Larry Morgan drove that car early on.... but I've slept since then. The more I think about it, the more "Larry Nelson" sounds right. Thanks for all the good information. Bill

My foggy memory thinks that Larry Nelson drove a Jegs sponsored 1967 "POST" Chevy II that ran C/SM.---- Larry Morgans H/A Fiero was sponsored by Castrol and the Nationwise Rod Shop.
