Now that IHRA finally released the division 9 schedule Allen has confirmed the 2008 Rockett Brand Race Fuel Stock/Super Stock combo series schedule. We will once again be racing the 2nd Saturday every month beginning on April 12th ending on November 8th. The only deviation from this will be our June race will be on the 21st and our September race will be on the 20th. The obvious reason for these two races moving to the 3rd weekend is because of IHRA points events being held on the 2nd weekend of those particular months. This schedule has not yet been put on the Roxboro Motorsports website, however, it should be in the next few weeks. It looks as though the 2007 banquet will be held in February, that date should be announced soon. Everyone mark your calenders for the 08 season!
Merry Christmas!

Good deal. We are going to try and figure out how to make one or two. Unfortunately most of them fall on top of other races on our schedule.
Is there anyway to miss the mountains coming down there from the Blacksburg area?

Tracy is there any way to move the April Race that is on top of MIR. Piedmont is going to run a 6 race series starting in june with the IHRA Saturday night combo. I feel there is to much racing in March, April and May for racers in this area as it is.

I enjoyed the time I went to Roxboro this year. I hope to do more of those races in 08. I have 2 things though.
1) I wish you would also look at the div 1 and 2 schedules. A lot of racers go there also. I will go to MIR for a double before Roxboro for a combo. I know what you are thinking Well he only came once since we started O.K. valid point I'm just asking. 2) Herbie you and Allen need to work together on scheduling. I like the Roxboro sat night/ Piedmont Sunday program. It's a good deal for those of us wanting to race twice in a weekend. Now Roxboro has had a set schedule for a cople of years now so maybe Herbie needs to bend a little.(And Roxboro needs to look at the MIR conflict) Last I would like to Thank both tracks for scheduling these races. It gives us an alternative. I hope to be able to attend some this year. Thanks Chip Johnson |

Chip I will align my schedule up with Roxboro's. My first race is the Saturday of the IHRA race then we will go from there. I cant align it up in July as I have a rental deal that weekend but can just about the rest of the year. What I'm say is June falls on top of the Presidents Cup so I cant do that weekend, and April falls on a double at MIR where Alan will be driving my car that weekend.

Herb, If you will re-read my original post you will see the June race is scheduled for the 21st so it doesn't conflict w/ the Presidents cup. There aren't that many available weekends during the March, April, May time frame and I don't think the division 1 race will have a big affect on the turnout at Roxboro. I looked back at qualifying for last years div. 1 race at MIR and out of the 13 stockers Michael Beard was the only one that has raced at Roxboro and out of 9 super stockers Sterling Simmons was the only racer active at Roxboro. This is the only conflict w/ div. 1 or 2 that I'm aware of and to tell you the truth that's why I asked Allen to have a best 5 out of 8 points series so it won't hurt if you miss a race or two. I may end up going to MIR myself but there are at least 15 to 20 racers locally that won't go and would probably like somewhere to run before Rockingham.

I remember Chip, there are still quite a few racers that go to every Roxboro race that don't attend any division races much less the one's in division 1. Even when they finished the race not that many cars from this area attended. If we only have one conflict we will be doing pretty good.

Thanks for getting the schedule out. I for one am planning on attending the MIR Pro-Am (weather permitting... I only went to the make-up date last year). I like the best 5 of 8 for Roxboro series points. I might be able to do that this year.
