I?m curious and lazy. Who has the highest factored horsepower over the factory rating. I?m would bet that some of the newer cars that have been hit hive the largest difference but some of out great minds on here can probably recite the numbers from memory. I don?t think I?m anywhere close but my 1989 Corvette 350/240 is NHRA rated at 270HP.

Ignoring the FS/FSS cars...maybe one of the 1970's smog engines? The 1978 Volare 360/155 is rated at 289, for one example.

Some of the smog motors got drastically refactored Ford 460 factory 220 NHRA rated 300 and there are other like this. I think there was a smogger 454 that had a huge increase also.

Jim, one of the versions of the Ford 460 was factory rated at 198 HP, but NHRA quickly put it at 300 HP, when I believe, Glen Tinsley showed up at the Winternationals years ago, with a 85/86 Mustang with a 460 198HP, classed as GT/MA!

NHRA factored a lot of combos before anyone even raced them! Some of those combos that have been factored have never been raced to this day!
Just another thing NHRA will never get around to looking at.

I know that TStick and I's combo has been dinged many times. 1980 Chevy 305 currently sits at 232 from 180. I feel like that's pretty heroic!
