Is the bellhousing a cast part of the case, or does it bolt on? Hard to tell from your pictures.

That is a 904 Chrysler built for AMC . It was used in AMC cars in early 80's in Sprite and others with the GMC 4 cyl Iron Duke motors . They had a lower first and second gearset - 2.72 and 1.54 instead of the 2.45 1.45 standard gears. As far as I know, everything is standard 904 internals. AMC also used the 904 with AMC bolt pattern behind the 6 cyl 258 motor. That's what I use behind the 4.0 in my Comanche. That trans will probably need the MOPAR converter.

Don't know about this one either..
In 1980, the Iron Duke was redesigned with the new GM FWD bell pattern.
The one pictured is a std Chevy RWD pattern.

AMC 904 postal van transmission. I believe they were all 904's, not the 998/999 V8 version which had a larger front servo and 4 pinion planetaries. Easy to tell a V8 unit from the outside, they have 2 ribs on top of the rear servo.

Dynamic transmissions is in Connecticut, used to be partners with Frank Lupo's Dynamic Converter, but I don't recall what year they split up.

Dynamic Transmissions has an active Facebook page, they have a website but it seems to be broke.
