Single wheelie bars

I'm thinking about building some Single Wheelie bars for stockers, Similar to Biondo and the 72' chevelle Abbazia/Landolfi ride.

Not to detract from your post, but why would someone want a single wheelie bar as opposed to traditional double wheel? A friend of mine almost destroyed his Camaro Super Stocker several years back when he launched into a huge wheelie, pivoted over on the single wheelie bar and almost flipped over.

It's a matter of taste and function. I personally love the single wheelie bar. We initially hung a typical super stock wheelie bar (solid mounted to axle) on the back of my A/S car and the first time I dumped the clutch it unloaded the rear and blew the tires off the car. A lot of guys bandaid this by bending the bars up and getting nasty with the rear valence. I didn't want to do this so I build a singe bar setup with with the mechanics similiar to AJE's bars.

Rear axle seperation and pinion climb does not affect the bar which means now I can run it nice and low similiar to a chassis car and use it as a tunning tool. I did order a spring kit for it but the stock spring is only approx 240 lbs/in. After some online searching I found one that is 560 lbs/in which works perfect on my car. If the air and track are killer I just screw preload in it to stiffen the bar and can lower it to get it working sooner.

Here's a video with great air and the bar pretty high. The starting line prep and having the Cal-Tracs adjusted correctly has determined for me how straight the car went, not the bar.

Just a warning for wheelie bars, specifically the AJE bars.

Don't come out on kill and try the bars out for the first time. Dad almost flipped over first time out with the AJE bars in T/Stk trim. Got way too high and had to lift. Luckily not too much was hurt that time. Got a nice shot of the car on one wheel after he lifted...

Thanks guys, ethier way i feel that the Single wheelie bar has worked well on the car i used it on, and i'm glad to hear alot of others have had positive results with them.

One big plus is that they're lighter then a regular setup.
