Im so sorry to hear this. I knew him well back in the 70's when I ran with my friends Dick Estiveze and Jim Morgan. They ran in the same class with their CJ's. and Jim and Rick had many runs together in Div. 1. God Speed to a great person and a true sportsman.

Wow... so sad to hear this! Mr. Wolf was a jeweler by trade. When I was a young kid, and broke my glasses in gym class (more than once), he soldered the nose piece back on when no one else would touch the project. It wasn't until several years after that I found out he was a drag racer (let alone what drag racing was), and took note of his Class win Wallys proudly displayed in his store.

It's a tiny little world... Mr. Wolf claimed that the 'Cuda had 16 street-driven miles on it. He got it from BZ Motors in Lewisburg, PA (who was one of my first sponsors). He's the first guy who ever threatened to put me in a car (although we never actually did it). He introduced me to John Baughman at the Dutch one year as "This is the young man that's going to drive my car someday." Just standing around with that group was like hanging out with royalty, for a young kid.

Mr. Wolf took a protoge under his wing by the name of Ed Fetterolf, and taught him the jewelry trade. Ed went to high school with my brother. After college, I ran into him when I worked at my first sign shop: he rented the other half of the store. I later rented a room from him, then storage space for the Turismo --- in a bay behind Rick Wolf's store! Ed later got into drag racing and won a Motorcycle class championship at Beaver Springs just a few years ago.

Mr. Wolf had a body-in-white Eagle Talon. Never got to see it, and I don't think he ever did anything with it, but he talked about it often. The short wheelbase was a concern, but that would've made a neat ride!

While hunting for my first Stocker, I met an old Hemi driver that used to race with Mr. Wolf. He told me lots of stories from the wayback machine. He said Rick used to be quite a body builder -- could lift the front end of his Hemi off the ground, and at Numidia one time some girls were checking them out. Rick flexed his muscles and it started a rip in his shorts leg, or t-shirt ala the Incredible Hulk, and one of the girls fainted........ so the story was told!

Godspeed, Mr. Wolf. Tempus Fugit. You will be missed.

So sad that my buddy, Rick, is now gone. However, I am delighted that so many others were touched by Ricks gift of kindness and generosity.
During Ricks many visits to Florida, He would often find the time to come by my dealership (Gainesville C-D-J) for some kind of service on one of his vehicles. Actually I think he just wanted to bench race over some Bar-B-Q at Sonnys, which we always did. Or if we met at a race or hotel parking lot... He always had some cold Yuengling in his cooler to share. I'm going to miss that guy. Great sportsman and a great friend. Rest in peace.

Snapped this pic at 75-80 in the 70's. Loved that car. RIP.
