Anybody going to do any reporting from Budds Creek this week-end? Hopefully someone will be reporting.

Just a few misc. tidbits I can throw up from Don Dimeler's house. Don't expect much, I'm not good at "reporting". Michael Beard is in Bristol, TN at the World Footbrake Challenge.
There is a steady flow of a few trailers at a time coming in since they emptied the spectator side holding lot this morning. There may be at least 20 Stockers so far and there seem to be a lot of .90 cars and Top classes. Weather is nice so far, in the 80's, light breeze and variable clouds. Last year it was brutally hot! Weather Channel says it may get up to 92 on Sunday with 40% chance of rain Sat. and 30% Sunday. It wouldn't surprise me if car counts are close to last year and hopefully be over 64 in some classes thus eliminating the "re-entry round". Stock had the most in 2011 with 54. Bill Belden said he's bringing a couple of stick car friends and Charlie Walc SS/KA Duster and Michael Mcgrath J/CM Dart GTS are a couple of "new" racers pitted nearby that weren't here last year. Gene Jordan was the first Stocker to tech in. 2011 #'s : Stock-54, SS-36, HR-38, SR-29, QR-38, TS-27, TD-32 Sunoco fuel truck is on-site. |

Thanks Myron. Anything will help. Mainly was interested in the amount of cars there. I went last year, but personal reasons keep me from coming this year.
Thanks a lot. Butch |

54 TD looks like the biggest count in all the classes, surprised about that. Looks to be about upper 200's to low 300's in car count. ???
Don't understand why more folks don't swallow their pride and support more $ races like this @ one of the best non (NHRA) tracks in the world and its better than 90% of NHRA tracks. Last edited by SoMDfan; 07-14-2012 at 05:26 PM. |

A few wrecks and blow-ups caused delays, then on & off rain. At first only IHRA class eliminations got postponed till Sunday, but ET was also postponed due to intermittant rain. Qualifying and time runs all in with a few Top ET elimination runs made Sat. Everything else will be started earlier Sunday.
Disappointed at the lower turnout in most classes. I heard several Stock & SS cars went to the Bristol footbrake race! Track has been working well despite the heat. Last edited by Myron Piatek; 07-14-2012 at 11:10 PM. |

Well, this ain't exactly live, but, I just wanted to say a few things about the race. Just as Tom Goldman said, the track was perfectly prepared all weekend, even Friday for the test & tune. MIR is an awesome facility, right down to and including the marble walled, air conditioned, sparkling clean restroooms. Thanks and thumbs up to the MIR management & staff. Also, a big thumbs up and thank-you to Bill Belden, who hooked me up with Dom Dimeler, who hooked me up with Eddie Bolton. Eddie has a NAPA Auto Parts store near the track and was kind enough to take Don and me to his store after hours so I could fix a cracked brake line on my car and still make another T&T run. Also thanks to Myron Piatek for the tubing wrench loan. It was actually a darn nice weekend except for the oven-like heat and being runner-up in the first round! Bill Taylor STK 1005

Congrats to Pete D'Agnolo on yet another Super Stock win, and Joe Santangelo in Stock, stopping Myron from pulling off a four-peat.
