Anchor your left elbow into the arm rest, or whatever is solid there, and don't move it or your hand on the steering wheel. You're using your left arm to lock the front wheels straight. You'll feel the car going to straight, or not. If not, let off. If nothing feels or looks wrong you'll land a-ok.
Good luck. Lower gas prices now..... |

Bowtie is right. And if it's staying straight, just drive thru it with a big grin on your face! You will notice immediately if it is not going straight. The small amount it may be drifting over (as seen by a camcorder or observer) will seem like a lot more from the drivers seat. Don't let off unless there is a real problem (wall, guardrail, other car, etc.) as that's were you start tearing up pans, headers and other expensive stuff. If there is a problem, DO LET OFF! Come back another day still wearing the same coat of paint!

If the car isn't making a very hard move one way or the other keep your foot in it. If it comes down and you're way out of the groove you're better off lifting. Trying to correct when you're out in the marbles will have you sideways in a hurry. Been there!

Wouldn't a car be quicker if it were only going forward, not up?
