Anyone know what happened to this car? Who owns it now and is it still in competition? ED

Ed,
It was owned by Ronnie Brigham. I tried to contact him last year but didn't get a response. Bob Rice ![]() |

Ed, That car was built by/ for Doc Hoover ,from Tenn. Don't know where it went to.
Ronnie has been on here recently. Might be making a comeback.

Bob,
It's amazing how many photos you have of Chevy II's and Nova's. My son found this video. I think he pulled the wheels higher on the 1-2 shift then the leave.

Ronnie's car really Looked good & worked well. The late Dave Baptiste built him an engine.
It wasn't until Ronnie attended a National event that the "tech guy's" had a "field day" about the construction of the car. That "duce" had some real "neat tricks" to it. |

Mark,
You are the first person that I can recall who has mentioned the Doc Hoover Chevy II. I was told that the sheet metal on the car back then was paper thin and that NHRA told him not to bring it back. Don't know if that was true or not. Wasn't the car painted a pearl white with red trim? Bob Rice Ed, I've spent way too much money collecting pictures over the last few years. As you can tell, the 66-67 Chevy IIs are my favorites. Bob Rice |
