How will they be able to prep all 4 the lanes and say they are equal. There will too many variables in track temperature, rubber build up, and dust build up on the top end of the lanes that aren't used. It wouldn't make any difference on my low hp car, but cars that are prone to being more traction dependent would almost certainly have trouble.
Don't get me wrong, seeing class eliminations 4 cars at a time would be exciting, and qualifiying runs could conceivably be completed in half the normal time. The pros who use lane choice would have even more trouble. EX> What if you had lane choice in your Top Fueler and took left lane A. The pair in front of you oils the track down. now you get to choose Left lane B or right lane B that has sat there dormant since an early morning touch up. do you say hold it a minute, I need to examine the track conditions with all my gadgets, then I I have to go back and re-adjust my clutch timers, etc. I don't think the situation will be as rosey as Bruton hopes to sell it to NHRA.
