Bob Gittleman's '57 Chevy 210 2 dr. Handyman Wagon 270 HP T-10 4-speed F/Stock
Picture taken at Amelia Earhart Field, Hialeah (Miami), FL in 1963. This was the first, serious, purpose built Jr. Stocker in South Florida. Ran mid 13's at 101-102 mph in 1963-'64 with a Bob Fulp built dual quad 283, Balanger Bros. headers and Casler recap cheater slicks on wide 6" station wagon rims and 5.38 positraction. Bob Fulp built traction bars ran up the frame to middle of front door until NHRA made him shorten them. Busted rears on a regular basis but sure left hard at 6,500 rpm when they didn't break.

I think I posted this before but it's the best one I've taken. This Chevy II wagon, owned by Bobby Wood from Georgia, is a bracket car now, but it was built in the late seventies by Charlie Lee from Sparta, Tennessee and ran in SS/M class. Bobby Wood told me that it was owned by Barry Davis and Chuck Ray before he bought it. Bobby Wood entered the car in the "Pinks All Out" race at Montgomery this past November. He was picked to compete in their wheelie contest. Bobby said the show is supposed to air in Feb. or March.

Thank you for posting these pictures, wagons are just cool.
The white 56 Chevy was originally built by my father in 1967 and raced in stock until 1970 when he built a 2 dr post (which he still bracket races today) and sold off the wagon. The wagon then transformed into a super stock car with the 1972 rule changes that made all stockers 1960 or newer. It went through a couple of owners and then was hidden away in a garage. Fast forward to the mid 90's and we were talking to a local super stock racer and he told us about this wagon he had found in a garage. Long story short my father bought the car back and it now sits is his garage awaiting one of us to build it up Chad |

Is this the old wagon that Tucke Parish used to run SS/M in Combo I & II at Music City Raceway? I think it was painted white when Tucker ran it.

Jim C.! How ya been?! I am the guy from Iowa that came to look at your Nova a few years ago. We thought it may have been a Nickey car. You were very gracious and honest and I really enjoyed your hospitality, and your garage!
