Default I guess you must lock your rigs up!

Sorry i didnt get around to see most people, between the heat, the work we had to do on my buddy's (Frank Jenkins) SG Pont LeMans (Broke trans bigtime!) and taking care of the parents 3 cars,i was whipped everyday and ready for my Mt Dew/Jack mix mug. Track heat or ?? was pure hell trying to dial on
On a real sad note:
Hope none of you got robbed like my friend Alex Miller did (SG racer)someone walked into his dad's RV, took all his money out of his billfold and credit cards, by noon Thursday they went to Norwalk K-Mart and Walmart and rang up over $700 in charges.
Sad thing is i heard of others getting hit also. Really sad now you have to worry about theft at the race track and if we could of found the person that did it we would of made him wish he never seen a track before.

The great thing about Drag Racing is the access the fans have to the cars and pit area. Unfortunately this "access" can lead to things like stolen parts, tools, pit vehicles etc.
Personally the further I am away from spectator foot traffic, the better I feel. I dont like being pitted near the Grandstands, too many people walking between trailers.

I think the real problem is that the track parks the same class together, then when you are call up to the lanes there is nobody around to watch out for you, and the thieves know this!!! Sorry to hear about ray's missing money.

This is not the first time I`ve heard of this issue at Norwalk....I heard a truck and trailer were stolen years ago and they chased the guy to Wakeman before they caught him...Sorry to hear the bad news.

Question Re: I guess you must lock your rigs up!

maybe campers shouldn`t be in racer`s pits?is there any other nhra nats that do this?
i witnessed a drunk camper doing a wheelie on his dirt bike lost control and almost hit an elderly couple walking along the fence.why do we need insurance and a pit vehicle sticker and the drunk campers don`t

Great point. I guess because we pay a lot more than they do for great customer service.

Because NHRA knows that we will pay the $ 10.00 at the gate to get the sticker but, if they charge the "Fans" of the sport it may shy them away from coming to the event and we wouldn't want that.

Kelli Barbato had her bike taken at the National Event at E-Town because they have 2 bikes and a golf cart and NHRA only gave them 1 sticker. Her B/F took the scooter up to the lanes to help out on a friends A/Fuel car and came back and the the scooter was gone. They would not release the bike until she proved that she had a sticker for the bike. She had to "Get Another" sticker from someone and he still would not allow her to leave with the bike until she put it on the bike, but, we have spectators rolling in with Golf Carts, Quads, Mini-Bikes on trailers into National Events not needed a sticker and they can do whatever they want to including harming other spectators.

Yeah, they said they were doing all this to help us racer. Seriously, how was my poor boyfriend searching for an hour and a half for my scooter then me having to find a sticker and fight with the Full Throttle official after I had just went .002 red first round HELPFUL?!?!?!?! I think it would be more effective to police golf carts, bikes, and scooters coming in from the spectators. They all need to come through the ticket booth, how hard would it be, seriously?
