Thanks for the pix, Tom.
"another mopar (matador?)..... garrett moude" That's an 1970 AMC Rebel Machine sans white paint and red & blue stripes. First time I've ever seen one as a class car. Cool... ![]() M68 |

Back in the day, there were 3 AMC cars in my neighborhood. A 1969 Rebel Machine, a 1968 AMX, and a Rambler Scrambler. All were strong running cars, but, the peer presure from the big 3 guys, along with a conflict with a telephone pole for the Scrambler, replaced them in a short time frame. The Rebel disapeared in about 2 years, and never saw the owner again. The Scrambler's owner survived his confrontation with the pole,(even without an airbag) but, never bought another Muscle car. The AMX had its 390 and AMC rear axle replaced with a Chevy 396 375 HP, and 12 bolt from a Camaro. The owner won many street races, until somebody asked to see what a 390 AMC engine looked like. LOL!! End of street racing career! Ahhhh,.. the good old days, when cars were fast and women were faster.

Tom:
First, thanks for the continued posting of the racecar pics. Great job that we all enjoy. I, like many others, look foreward to your photography skills each time you race. Almost as good as being there. (sometimes better in iffy weather) Second, yes, the black Camaro is Gene Emes new SS/AS car. Stopped at Dan's for a "brightening up" on the way home. Have to wait to see what it looks like! FJ |
