Default Ideal ramp truck old and new!

Where did all the great ramp truck gone. I was looking at Leno's garage and Don Prudhomme was showing his fantastic truck.

They are bar none the coolest way to transport except when you pass someone who is a jerkoff and they throw a diaper full of baby poo at the car.....or Johnny is playing trunk sniper with his red-ryder....

But damm they are cool......I would love to use one, but unfortunatley I have thought of about 3000 reasons not to.....

Still way cool......of things from a bygone era like respect for other peoples property.

Using a ramp truck seems like a better deal than pulling an open trailer. Plus they look cool!!

Lane,

The only real negative was the gas milage was terrible compared to a diesel
truck pulling a trailer open or enclosed.

My F350 diesel pulling a car on my open car trailer gets 15 mpg, most of the
ramp trucks got more like 7 to 10 mpg.

Then there also is the shortage of lockable storage space on a ramp truck.

this thing right here is getting 18 mpg - 05 Ram/cummins, 178,000 miles, auto. Driven GENTLY at 65 with this 3600 lb challenger, I am stunned at how good it is. Comfy too.

Here is a picture of a truck I just bought out of North Carolina 60 days ago. Nice clean truck, all original. Ramp trucks are just cool!

I know where this Chrysler special built hauler is at and is for sale, but...........needs a lot of TLC cause its been sitting in a field for years.

Original owner Arlen Vanke, then Jeg Coughlin, then my parents, now down the road at a local company owner.

BTW, it now has a 454 w turbo 400 in it, but didn't cut any Chrysler mounts out of it when install the Chevrolet in it.

When you say it needs TLC, is it an Ohi rust bucket ? Or is it missing/broken....glass etc from those damm field vandal squirrels ?

And any idea how much ?
