Default How much $ would you ask of a new sponsor?

I wonder what would be a fair amount to ask? Decals for truck and trailer, t-shirts and crew shirts would be bought by them. Souvenir program entry listing, displays, car show attendance all in addition to race track exposure included in the request amount. This is for an associate type sponsorship, not a full ride deal like Emmons, Flecther etc. Door size decals, same on trailer sides and rear door. What do you think?

These would be about 17"x12" decals, about the size of the Jegs All Stars decals for the trailer. Not looking at doing the "wrap" stuff.............

The DOT does care if you are advertising on the outside of the trailer. Insurance, log book, etc. A local, long time Super Pro racer was stopped on the way out to ET finals at Bandimere in 2008. He is a Matco dealer and has it on his trailer and car. He had a few issues. Nothing life changing, but the rules ARE different.
Sorry to jump in, but thought it pertinent.

Aside from this having an background in segmentation and donor profiling (and lets face it a sponsor is a donor)

You would need to have a "plan" in place for tracking of the results of their contribution.

I may have "undersold us" but we were an "unkown" and still are "unknown" quantity.....but well.....we just kinda pulled some numbers our of the air that would make things interesting for a "Title" sponsorship to them, and a short enough term (6 months) that didnt fork us if we did undersell ourselves.

They CAN get a lot of exposure, for press releases, photo ops, are you making the car available to them a couple times a year for "events" like company picnics and customer appreciation events ?

Its all in how you direct them to play the sponsorship, it would seem to me, we had no experience in Drag sponsorship, and neither did they.....so...seems to work good, Ignorance is bliss ?

In our case, part of their "bang" is naming and wrap of the car, as well they are only the 4th ACCEPTED company / ECU that will run on our combo, so its a ripe opportunity...for them especially the restomod market.

BUT they , and WE need to be able to TRACK their returns....how do you do that ? Well in our case, there are 3 types of returns, 1) Direct, from contact of potential customers at the track, they will be given a special printed "coupon" for a discount on the system or materials. 2)Refferal from a direct contact. For this well will provide another tracking mechanism. 3) Indirect, those are easy....anyone wanting this system will have heard about it from our car and the R&D that was done on our other Challenger.....so

The sponsor will know exactly who where and how business was reffered for this product line.

Think at track coupons....promo items....something...

If theyre paying for the "goodies" thats a good start...but they need to know how that can translate to sales I would think, unless they just like seeing their name in all kinds of places....

Just some things for thought, I would be careful taking any directt advice from us as we dont have a clue on the sponsorship side.....

But rather just presented as "food for thought"
