Default I wonder

I just looked at the entries for Atlanta and Topeka. Very few entries in stock and super stock. I wonder if the advent of the crate motor cars are starting to keep people home?

I think for most it is not wanting to spend money too early. Escpecially with the latest weather patterns. You can also almost guarentee a spot with todays car counts so no since in giving NHRA any extra money.

ok - I will admit I do not read much but where the heck are the "crate motor" cars /engines listed by NHRA?

Inquiring minds want to know when and where they were authorized in NHRA.

Or

Is it just a colloquialism?

Yes Greg all seven or eight of them are keeping people from racing. You know the new cars are winning all the races. I don't know if you can beat this topic anymore.

ATL car count is down because Norwalk Pts is the same weekend. It's very simple you can't run two big races within 7 hours of each other. I would bet you could find a min if 30 SS cars at the Norwalk pts that would run ATL if it were ran a week earlier.

And Topeka is down a little because INDY Pts is the same weekend. I know of 15 S/SS cars that would have gone to Topeka if they were not on the same weekend as A Div 3 PTS.

Look at the 2010 Ford engine specs and the 2009 Chrysler specs. It should open your eyes.

Charley,

Races within 7 hours of each other? What are you talking about? Norwalk to Atlanta is more like 12 hours. Indy to Topeka is similar. If you don't like Greg's opinion of the current bogus/crate motor situation then don't read it. You have become a supporter of the movement now that you drive a Mustang. Interesting..........Would you feel this way if you didn't drive a Mustang?

Early entries are likely down due to the economy, you don't have to enter early much anymore.

NHRA is doing a very poor job of scheduling as well, even more so than usual.

It's not just one thing but a culmination of "enhancements", economy, personal finances in this economy, gas prices spiking (again), lowered grade point level, spotty tech, ever changing run schedule, poor track prep, inept factoring, AHFS, and on and on. Then, once there, treated like -----.

I would think the handful of "raced mis-factored" cars are a minor cause, but another growing dissatisfaction with NHRA
