All the DP transmissions are different.

We use a 904, most others use a Protrans 904 guts in a 727 case.

The valve body WE use is a Turbo Action E-Shift. You can set it up to do 1-2 or in our case 1-2-3 as well as Burnout mode and Pitroad mode.

If I was a betting man (which I am) I would guess Jeg is using a protrans, and an electric 1-2 shift. Most Protrans DP's are

I'm the type of guy that always thinks out of the box. I actually thought about using the stock 722.6 automatic transmission at one point. 3.59 1st gear and computer controlled upshifting. I already have the PSC standalone for it where we could put the car in D for "dumb" and let her buck. No tach, no shift light, however we finally decided to throw a stick in the car and have some fun.

We used the Pro Trans 727 small block case as the pump is larger and so is the input shaft. The rest is 904. Had a learning curve to teach the old driver not to shift the damn thing as it does the 1/2 by itself and all you gotta do is shift the 2/3. I did a lot of 1/3 shifts. Course, I'm older than dirt and a little slower.

904 by A&A in mine. No e-shift, thats just something else to go wrong, and limits the driver......and reduces the fun factor...a stick now that would be another story entirely...

Did you hear about the new Jerico's that shift all by themselves?? Yes, we've had ours on order, but it hasn't shown up yet. What gives??? They come with an automatic clutch release, so we don't have to go through the trouble of mounting a button the steering wheel. I guess we'll just keep waiting...should be anytime now...can't be much longer...

Mike, nothing new.
For many years, Chevy racers have either use the governor for shifting on the early trsnmissions, or electronics since the LT-1 cars first appeared in Class racing.
