What would happen if you were to use bias stick shift slicks, stiff side wall on an automatic H/SA stocker? Would you treat the slicks like the auto slicks, same tire pressure with the stiffer side wall? Anyone have any experience they want to share. My brother tells me I would spin the tires, I don"t buy that story, boy those stick shift guys, lol

Only answer I have is probaly try and see,I want to try opposite we tried a little once using radials on stick car did'nt work at all when we tried but I will probaly try again when I have the chance, before I say it won't work.
Using stick tire I think could work your brother could be right auto may not hit them hard enough to plant the tire, but are'nt the radial sidewalls about as stiff as stiff sidewall stick tire? I never say this can't be done or that can't be done, cause I've seen alot things that work now that was never thought possible, years ago. What happened to you that your brother turned out right and you have automatic, where did your parents go wrong that you turned out that way? LOL Mike Taylor3601 |

Mike, thanks for the insights about the stiff sidewalls, I think the radials do not flex so it have to be similair to the stick tires, I will go testing and let you know. I think you stick guys hit the tire way to hard for the radial and think it would not work in reverse, keep me posted if you test.
Lance tells me everyother day I was adopted and not really in the family in fact he said he found on the door step wrapped in newspaper. Could be, we are a bit different, but then again you stick guys are different, no I mean special, hahahaha. Someday over refreshments I will tell my stick shift experience.....

joe i ran my car with 3056st mickey thompsons and was able hold 17-18 psi never went more than that my car is a natural "H" car,but as i had pictures of the car you could still see the side wall wrinkle quite a bit and it mite hold more ,but it is a 30x9 tire so it would wrinke ,,60ft was not as good as the radial but better than the standard 30x9 mt gmonde

Deuces,
I figured that they would work if clutch could be soft enough, lower start line rpm softens it some more and probaly use counter weight that comes in up high in rpm.We did'nt do much was testing while making time runs for bracket race. It goes against my beliefs to lower starting line anything less than high side limiter LOL Joe, I tried a automatic just was'nt right felt like I was trying to be left handed instead of right handed. Most awkward thing I ever done was drive push button dodge,it was time to shift had finger on button but it would move had to think hard to make it push the button, then all that thinking give me a headache. Joe, We used old slicks off of Ed Bednaz's B/stick nova on Alan Peters Jr.'s 66 impala wagon and they worked real well. The car yanked the wheels nice but then kicked the driveshaft upstairs.......ooops!
