Default carb base

Has anyone back to back their race car with the carb air cleaner base and then without it? Is there any ET difference? Looking for actual testing not the philosophy of the air cleaner base.

Thank you.

Back in the '70s my '65 250hp 327" '65 Chevelle convert liked it about 1/2 MPH worth. (4GC)

Joe

Last summer we purchased an original Corvette (69 427-390 hp) quadrajet base and compared it to "nothing'....Nothing was faster by over a hundredth. Lost it in high gear....

Anybody need an air cleaner base.......

Jeff, there have been more emails to remove it than to keep it. I guess it depends on tuneup.

I have 3 bases for sale one illegal and 2 legal, lol

Joe,
It also depends on how close your carb sits from the backside of the hood, too.
