Default 426 Hemi Replacement Block?

I was told by NHRA Tech today that I have to run an original block in Super Stock, that there is no replacement. My question is though, aren't the AH guys running new Mopar blocks?

I am (was?) building a '66 Coronet for SS/EA, and the blocks were the same as the '68 blocks, so why can't I run a new block?

I believe that the "new" hemi block has siamesed walls and extra material to make the block more rigid---cuz of this ya get something like 25 more HP something that will not happen with a 1966 block--I think that is NHRAs reasoning behind their ruling---NOT POSITIVE ONLY MY PERSONAL OPINION!!!! Keep trying ya might get it approved but if my reasoning is correct yer not gonna get it passed/aproved---Comp

From what I have heard is that World Products makes the Hemis replacement blocks for Mopar and they have cast some Hemi short deck blocks (383 deck hight) that the Hemi Shoot out cars are using. Anybody heard about this???

This is true....no rule that says you have to have "stock" deck height in superstock.

Danny,
Dvorak sent me a short block with illegal pistons, A china made crank and over lenght rods. If I cant use the block now it's a complete screw job on his part. Well maybe I can use the bearings.
On top of that he told me to go ahead and use it his illegal junk since the stock street hemi short block I'm running now isn't super fast. It's all on the internet if you care to read it.

Still think you misjudged me?

So what is the verdict on these blocks? I've been planning on buying the parts to put a good legal short block together using the block Dan sent me but this may end those plans

See,,there IS more to the story,,We were talking about blocks, not the internals,,but I'd deffinately say you've got a legal bitch going here.
Are you going to Boise this weekend? If so, I'll look you up. Take care.

I believe you have been miss informed. I don't think there is a superstock hemi out there that runs a 45 year old block. Any block that Mopar sells that they consider a replacement block is legal for superstock....P5155072...P5153942....and the P5153943. The 943 block allows the engine builder to put the lifter bore any where he wants to!
