What class does a '70 Challenger R/T with a 440 single 4 bbl fit into in Super Stock? If I looked at things correctly it looks like SS/I or SS/IA. This would require a full cage.Does this need to be certified? Can the T/A hood be used as a replacement for the shaker hood option?

9.55 is the weight break, making it a natural SS/HA that can run GA and IA. There was a 6-pack car in Div 1 that ran a T/A hood in SS/FA a few years back. I believe all cars with cages need to be certified, I think, every three years.

Yes, the T/A hood, shaker hood and R/T hood are all legal. Of course the T/A hood is the best and there is no weight penalty for running one. Use the "B" deck height block. Is it 356 HP as in Stock?

The #15 SS qualifier at Budds Creek, MD was a blue Challenger with a 440-4.
I remember being surprised that it was a 4 bbl instead of a six pack. http://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCSt...r2011#indextop http://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCPhoto.asp?ID=232589 |

There used to be one in Div 2 that ran SS/I. I do belive Matt Hensly SS/AH did the engine and built the car...I know he had some dealings with it..The last time i saw this car was at Bristol back in 2005 or 06

I recall the black Cuda that he helped with (Brian Burn's car) but don't recall a Challenger. Anyway, Matt will be at Charlotte this coming weekend and he could provide input...he's being doing Pro Stock engines for the Johnsons for several years now.

I remember that car, I can't remember his name but a cool car. I believe it was a 68-69 dart style body, but it was a 383/4bbl combo. I wonder where that car is now?
