I cant tell ya I missed a good deal of my goals last year. But considering what I had to work with it is amazing to me the little I did do. I had a pretty decent amount of money to work with for the 2011 season relative to the cost of my car at least. Then early in the spring out of no where I got the opportunity ive been waiting on since I was about 12 ha. To open my own engine machine shop. This ate up a lot of my time/thoughts/money. I honestly should not of even tried to race last year (if you could call it that) with the brain power, money, and time I could budget for this project. Im talking I had to leave Indy early because I could not afford to stay. I threw the street tires back on my ugly old stocker and used the fuel that wouldnt pass fuel check to drive home on because that was cheaper than staying in my friends living quarters and paying him for towing home.... But none the less, I said I was going to race the US Nationals last year among other goals. I was a lot closer to meeting those lofty performance goals than I could convince any of you. But talk is cheap. I met one of my goals. And next year I will give it all I got to meet more of them. Hopefully with out having to sell phones for a living and having a full engine machine shop at my disposal this year and hopefully a little bit of cash I could at least manage to not oil down the track hahahahahah.
What about you guys? |

My racing goals are to just get the car done and on the track. My life goals are trying not to strangle someone.

Keep em comin guys! Love hearing peoples stories. I just sold my "stocker" to move some money around. I hd planned on building a newer body style this year any how. I cut m teeth on that one an learned a lot. Hopefully I find the perfect shell and business goes well enough I can build a much nicer car in a month or so before our first divisional here.

my racing goals are as follows
1) do better than I did this year, get more consistent on the tree (the .001 red in reynolds drove me nuts). 2) qualify on the top half of the sheet more often than not ( its seems to reduce the chance of having a "hitter" 1st round and usually means a heads up would be in your favor). 3) Win class somewhere, and not be embarrassed in a heads up with a conventional stocker. Made steps to take care of 2 and 3, still gotta work on #1

2012 Goals are simple, win class everywhere we show up. Probably wont get champion of class due to the fact that we always have cars in our class and it will probably go down to rounds won again! I would say just give the class champion to the person who wins the most Wally's; however you might as well give Mr. Dennis the award at the beginning of the season, lol! Great people, works hard on finding fast combos. As for life, thats thinking too far ahead, for me at least. I guess like all racers, winning the big one!

I think it's excellent!
(There it is, I'm setting a goal and working towards it. I've had setbacks but I'm not giving up.) More power to you Jimi! Hope next year is even better for you. Myself...actually it's the very same as Eric, finally finish the car and not strangle the **** out of someone that so desperately needs it! LOL! I've got the kids junior in the shop now and very shortly the mustang will be back inside...just hope santa brings what I asked for! (even gave part #'s hehehe) |
