65ft, then you may want to get a permit. We were leaving the house early this am, and got pulled by state trooper/tx dot for over length. He advised us that they are educating the troopers and they are starting to look for this more often. We were in huntsville so y'all coming in from the north side down 45 be aware. He did just issue us a warning and say he was only educating us, so they may just be looking right now. Just thought i would give y'all a heads up. Be safe, and see everyone in a few days.

If the trailer is over 10,001 lbs you already need a CDL to be legal.

Texas trooper just told me the permits are also expensive. Might need to just run Div 5.

Like most my 40 ft motorhome and 28 ft trailer is over the 65 ft limit but we have never been stopped. I do have the class B license for it but I always worry about the extra few feet in length. I also like most on here see the rigs at the races that are 80 plus feet in length and there are lots of them these days and wonder how they get by being that long on the road. Thanks Rick Cates |
