Default Chevy 2 rear leafs??

Got a question for the duece owners. on the front leaf hanger the outer washer that centers your bolt that goes through the spring. i guess what I want to ask is can I make that of something stronger,do they offer a beefier part? I have never owned a leaf spring car before dont know which direction to go here.
last couple runs i made yesterday felt like something was moving under the rear of the car . after inspections this am I found that bolt had split the washer allowing the spring to walk around in the hanger,

Sounds like you need to change the spring cup, the washer did not serve to center anything.

It may be the spring cup as you say. Looks like a freeze plug with 7/16 hole in it. it is about 2 1/2 inches round. Sure looks like it does the centering. I did use the term washer because i have no clue what it is actually called. Is there a replacement part?

I made my own "washers" for my car. I cut 2 discs out of a piece of 1/4" plate steel with a holesaw. Can't remember the diameter, but probably about 1/4" to 1/2" larger than the hole in the spring mount. Then I had a machine shop cut a "lip" into the washers so they would fit inside the hole but not go all the way through. This pic isn't my car, but gives you an idea of what I'm talking about.....
