Wow, respect for GM. These HP ratings are much more reasonable than the Drag Paks and Cobra Jets started with. They still may need some HP, but not nearly as much as the others. Just compare the N/A 427 to the 428 CJ rated 50 less to start with. The stocker supercharged motor is rated higher than any of the CJ blown motors are now, too, with, it sounds like, the same blower. Not sure how the SS motor's rating compares to the CJs.

I expected the horsepower ratings to be much lower too.

Hopefully, they will still qualify at Indy with these horsepower ratings.lol

Never mind the fact that the LT4 had roller rockers over a decade ago huh?

Without going into alot of details, they did not want to hassle or figure out a clutch and tranny combinations for the cars. It was alot easier for GM to have all cars equiped with automatics. Even though on all there ads they list 3 speed auto and 5 speed stick.
Even National Dragster reports on the COPO having 3 speed auto and 5 speed stick.
I know they probably did that article 3 months ago but I'm still pissed they didn't offer a stick so we could run A/S.
Oh well, they are still cool and I can't wait to see them run.
