From fearless leader - NHRA DISPLAY LIMITATIONS
The commercial exposure of individual race vehicle sponsors shall be limited to the permanent paint scheme (including decals) of the race vehicle and support equipment (i.e. truck and/or trailer), and crew apparel). Among the forms of exposure specifically prohibited are attachment of excessive signs or banners to the race vehicle and support equipment; merchandise displays or exhibits; inflatable’s/balloons; any audio or visual device which transmits a commercial message. Any commercial activity onsite at an NHRA event is subject to the approval of NHRA and may be discontinued, and the participating parties made to leave the premises, if the activity is not approved or deemed not in the best interests of the sport. I wish I had a sponsor so I could be too commercial and get thrown out - now that would create some exposure and press... Ron

Does this mean that I've (hopefully) seen my last Traxxas sign while watching coverage on TV? I'm waiting on her to have a decal on her winsdshiled like Ricky Bobby ...

No more attaching a small banner to the rear or side of your trailer to show support for the company that gave you some support so you could atttend their overpriced, drawn out things they call a race.
Might as well stab the last few guys that remain, or charge them even more. I guess they will pay, they keep going. |

That's what I get for starting a rumor that Myron was going to replace his crate motor with an NHRA-legal engine combination...

Nobody has told me one way or the other, but I'd like to think that I was an influence in Amsoil considering their involvement in IHRA and joining earlier this year. A regional distributor has been a sponsor since 1999, when I started in IHRA Stock, and I have kept the corporate office updated as well. It seems like NHRA is so greedy or desperate that they can't see that racers can introduce companies who help them to the sport of drag racing! That has the potential of benefitting everyone. Amsoil has been involved in a variety of different motorsports on the corporate level, but not drag racing until now. |

takes up at least 2 large spaces and "promotes NHRA professional drag racing show" They just mean those rules for the sportsman racers who pay to race, not get paid to show up and race like the "pros" do. As far as my loving NHRA, not so much anymore, sad to say.......
