Does Anybody know if Alf Wiebe still produces his suspension setups? Iv tried to email him but it wouldn't go through. Or is there an alternative kickass suspension setup for these cars? Iv seen a kit with a similar design to Alfs made by a company called house of hook. http://vettesuspension.com/A-Body_Components.html but Alfs stuff seems to be the hot ticket for a stocker. I'm in no hurry putting my car together. I'm planning on going the 1971/1972 chevelle 454, jerico dr4 route. Either 425 hp or 365hp 1971 or the 1972 454 240 hp. Any info appriciated

That kit, as pictured, appears to be not legal for Stock Eliminator

Actually this looks like a great copy of Alf's previous suspension that is no longer legal. I changed mine to the newest version shortly after Alf developed the latest version. NHRA doesn't like how the lower bars are attached to the bolt on bracket below the frame. They don't like the wishbone much either for some reason, even though it all mounts to the stock mounting points, and everything unbolts. I thought it satisfied the rules, but they disagree. |

Actually, Alf's first design was declared illegal a few years back, and he modified it.

not according to Alf it wasn't. Internet talk but never done by the NHRA because they had already declared it legal. He modified it cause it was the quickest solution for his customers to the uncertainties started by a divison 5 tech guy in 2008 IIRC, responding to the vocal minority who had issue with Kevin Borgstrom's car, a car that had been running if since the late 90's and had won multiple division and national events in and out of his division without ever a tech issue.

interesting quote I found..
Never mind the India country.....I believe you are talking about Alf Wiebe suspension parts. One comment I found: yes the kit is designed for completely stock bolt on suspensions, but also i think a lot of people overlook the horsepower levels its designed for, i have yet to see anyone mention its limitations in that category. it is basically designed as a ladder bar conversion, the upper arms are converted into a wishbone locator, that does nothing but hold the rear laterally. this really short ic makes the car hit the tires extremely hard and therefore will get a heavy low hp(600 or less) car moving FAST. theres on universally disliked individual that has been running alfs suspension for a while and loves to post pictures of his car with the front end 6' in the air running mid tens. if he put more power to the car, it would get a lot harder to tame. it would either hit the tires hard enough to spin them or make the car want to stand up way to high. But, this seems to talk about rear suspension that is a replacement for stock rear suspension. I believe the thread is about front suspension. It really doesn't matter to me. If you believe that you have he best stuff....go with it. I certainly will not try to sell you on what I use, I know it works for my cars, but might not for yours.
