Looks like it will be the last. Firebird is done after this season. Well it will be done this April.
http://www.azfamily.com/sports/Fireb...185527242.html I am not going to miss this race. It will be quite a wile before I will get to see any of you guys race again if I do not have a sportsman event close by in my backyard. I see it is going to be the overpriced double header again. But i will be there. This has been my favorate raceing event to go to for many years now. So i hope a bunch of you are goign to be there. You all put on such a great show, and I thank you so much for it. Matt The "STOCK" fan.

I hope you read the article in it's entirety:
...While the Firebird Raceway owner is bowing out, the NHRA is hoping to keep the track as its Valley home beyond this year. “NHRA is currently working with the Gila River Indian Community to continue to deliver the excitement of NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing to our passionate fans in Phoenix and the state of Arizona beyond 2013,” said Tom Compton, president, NHRA. “Based on our discussions with the Gila River Indian Community, we are very optimistic that the venue will be on the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series schedule in 2014.... There was a full length article in the 01/04/2013 Arizona Republic with quotes from NHRA about the proposed continuation beyond Charlie Allen. And I'm trying pretty darn hard to make the D71 race following the National event. I see no reason why I will not be there. Unless the engine blows up on the dyno and the car catches fire...typical excuses!

If the car catches on fire, I'll save the headers. They would look nice framed...or a coffee table

C/S would be no ballast and I think that would work but not really sure at this point. D/S would be same ballast as I used to run so I know that works. Geez, I just hope I remember how to drive!
