Any "history" of them splitting/cracking all the way around the sidewall? (Mine have one season on them and are 28.0/4.5-15 I run 40 psi in them)

I have the same tire. Run 40 psi also on 4400 lb car. No problems in 3 seasons.

Same tire, 35 psi, no issues after several years of use.

I've used that same tire for close to 10 years, never had a problem. Hopefully, it was just a defective tire.

Keep them away from ozone sources such as electric motors.
