what a refreshing news item...a sanctioning body enforcing thier rules. and even better when it was for "using parts not yet approved" in competition...
hell in nhra thats how you get em approved ... show up at teardwon for indy, claim everyone is doing it and i might know an attorney and SHAZAAM next year its approved. AND they really penalize people too !!! captain jack ya think the wagon can go 200mph & corner worth a **** ???

Jack, I don't disagree with you entirely. But, NASCAR has a template for the bodies, 3 engine configurations (Chevy, Ford and Toyota), and they have spec suspension parts. NASCAR is clearly different than NHRA trying to keep up with a thousand engine and transmission combinations in Stock and SuperStock. I am not defending NHRA, but how many people would it take to track every specification of every car???????????????? NHRA could have 50 people doing it and still people would not be happy. The difference is, NASCAR pays hundreds of thousands, so if a change is required.....so what..... For us sportsman racers, even a minor change is expensive and important to us.

You cant compare NASCAR to nhra--in any form--its like NFL vs.- pee-wee football--any pro nhra driver would kill to make the $$$$$$ that nascar drivers make

You in fact can compare all organizations in one way: how well do they enforce their rules? Whether it's NASCAR, NHRA, or a demolition derby, there are rules in place, and how they are enforced, if at all, is a major measuring stick to the integrity of that series.

Who says you can't compare NASCAR to NHRA? Kyle refers to the 1000 foot mark as "coming out of turn four"

Aren't you impressed that I had the foresight to put the bottle in the passenger door.

You just gave me a thought. I think I will wrap the entire car. It won't look like the same car, but it is purely an optical illusion.
Trust me. |
