Back in high school a friend of mine had a 68 Impala 2dr. fastback with a 327 and a 4 speed. Bucket seats, radio and heat and nothing else.

Love to know what happened to it.

Not available for 1968.

No 396 Big-Blocks for the Chevelle Station Wagon or Nomad.

In the Chevelle, the 396 was 'only' available in the SS-396 option
for the Malibu and El Camino.

Manual-Transmission 'only' for the 327/325 HP 'L-79' in the Chevelle and Chevy II Nova.

The 396/325 HP 'L-34" was not available in the Chevy II Nova SS-396.

No 350 Engines available in the Corvette or Chevelle.

No 327/325 HP 'L-79' available for the Camaro.

Camaro Z-28, 4-Speed only.

327/210 HP ~ 2-Barrel available in the Camaro 'only'.

That's why it looks like a GM assembly line when Stock and Super Stock are called.

Cal,

You mean the 1969 Chevrolet Models, and how the 'new' Models were classed in the NHRA in 1969.

I'll start a new 'Title Subject'.

Paul, Jay's original Nova that Willie Hormerte wrecked was one of the 234 L-34 cars. I had a choice between it and the 396-375 Nova I bought. They were the first two sold by Byrne Bros. in White Plains. Tim Byrne was a friend and tipped me off they were coming in . I was there to buy a 396 375 Camaro and he gave me first pick of the Novas.
