Calling all fox body stock racers.
I got my 89 to the strip wed. with my new C4 in it. It would not hook with street tires, even at an idle. So I bought a pair of Hooser drag radials 9x30, wheels are 8" with 4 1/2 back spacing, the car has stock springs and no air bag. How much trimming and wheel house reshaping am I going to have to do ? This might give you an idea. Here is a K/SA Fox with those tires. The owner said it took a weekend with trimming and a big fn hammer.

I would seriously consider a 5.5" backspace on a Fox body. We have a few Mustangs with 15x8 5.5" backspace and a 9x30 radial. The main contact point is the inside of the wheel well that can be smoothed with a ballpeen hammer. The 4.5" backspace gets you involved with the wheel lip.

Give us a call during business hours and we'll be glad to help you out we have done several of them and were probably the first to put a 9X 30 Radial on a Fox. GT's and Cobra's are tough, but LX's and Capri's are a piece of cake, can be done with no trimming.

The picture is my car and yes 5.5 back spacing and a BFH dead blow. On the inside but also cutting the outer lip slicing and dicing hammering back the welding back together. Also trimming the front and rear openings are a must, again a BFH is the tool. If your are good no paint touch up but if not some decal placement will hide things. Pm any one one on here for help.

Is that 5.5 back spacing must be on a 8 inch wheel?I run 6.5 back spacing on a 10 inch wheel.
