Myron Wins Palm Beach Stock Marathon

The Stock final round was contested at 1am Sunday morning with Myron Piatek besting yours truly in one of the closest races I have ever had. Even though it was so late, that didn't keep Myron from hiding my fire jacket to try and throw off my already diminished concentration! Next time Myron! Next time!

The added payout was well worth the long day of racing both of us endured. Palm Beach International Raceway is a beautiful facility that continues to improve with the new management. A big thumbs up to PBIR and their management and crew! Jim

You forgot to mention another highlight of the event - Harry Morgan in the Underdog FWD Escort was #1 qualifier! He made it to the semi's as well. Congrats!

As for the jacket, nice try. I actually did feel bad for you. But it reminded me of Chicken Little!

Great race nonetheless. Looking forward to next time.

Nobody should have to run you at 1 am in the morning Myron!! Especially after missing my afternoon nap! I wasn't messin' with you about the jacket either! I told you I had diminished mental capacity before we ran! As I said before.... next time! jim

Speaking of naps, I'm still recovering from the weekend! I dozed off at 9pm and just woke up having to close up the house, shut down the computer and turn out all the lights. Gotta get up for work at 6am.

Now you're blaming me for waking you up when I stopped by??? lol Just kidding.

I knew you were serious, but despite liking a practical joke, I'd never actually do that during a race. You did rather well for your "diminished mental capacity"! I wasn't taking you lightly. I expect our next race to be a good one too.

Myron,

Can't help but remember the first time you ever went to West Palm Beach. It was about 1979 or 80 that you followed me and Diane down there after we had to talk you into going. It may well have been your first "out of town" race.

We are proud of you. You've done very well.
