Does the switch for the two step have to be mounted on the brake pedal or can you put it somewhere else, like on the shifter console?

Both N and I HRA changed rule a few years ago, and you must have 2 step activated by brake pedal. Can use electric switch on pedal or brake pressure switch.
I have a simple pressure switch, think from Jegs if I remember right, that is plumbed inline on a brake line. There are some really nice switches that are adjustable for brake pressure to activate/release also. I have a toggle switch for on/off so it does not effect my burnout. Some have a switch on shifter also, so it is only activated in low gear. I am running a Mallory ignition, and have an RPM window switch programmed, so if I hit brakes on top end, it does not activate. Good luck. Ken Stock 412 |

Ken I'm not trying to cause problems, as I see you are definitely trying to help. But what is to stop someone from deactivating their 2 step with the off/ on switch instead of the pressure switch. Say you created the required presuure to activate the 2 step, then just turned off the switch to launch? Don't get me wrong , I completely sympathize with not wanting the 2 step to come on at the wrong time, but wouldn't the switch let the 2 step release as well?

Pretty simple fix....
Just wire the 2 step thru a Normally Open micro switch that is located to be closed when the shifter in Low Gear.... The 2 step will only activate in low gear... If you use have to start your burn out in Low Gear just put the pressure switch in the rear brake hydraulic circuit...... Bob
