Does anyone have a close approximate weight of a bench front seat for 68-69 GM A- bodies?
Thanks. Jim |

Thanks Mark. I would think they are very close. Trying to see if swapping to race seats is worth the expense for the gain in weight shifting.

Jim:
Here's the individual weights of the bench seat out of my 1971 T-37 A-Body. Had it re-covered before the stupid aluminum seat rule so I haven't put it back together. 1. Bottom = 39.4 lbs. 2. 2 backs @ 18.4 ea. = 36.8 lbs. 3. 2 head rests @ 3.2 ea. = 6.4 lbs. Total = 82.6 lbs. As you might guess I don't like the rule but I've spent a lot of time in other areas to rid weight and it would be foolish for me not to put them in. I'm not sure how much the seats will weigh when installed but maybe someone can tell us. I'm guessing that a savings of around 40-50 lbs. Hope this helps. Regards, Danny |

Hi Jim:
Our A Body Mopars saved about 45 lbs over stock buckets....Hate the look and idea of it but that is a HUGE weight loss!!!!!! Hope to see you this year my Friend!

The Model 41500 weighs 12.1 pounds.
Wasn't the original idea behind the rules change because the newer seats were "safer"? https://www.kirkeyracing.com/related...op-drawing.jpg
