Ok, its not a new NHRA rule, but I got your attention. With this years Mineshaft rule, Indy will be the race everyone can just let it all hang out in Stk/SS. In Stock the Factory Showdown cars do not count in the Mineshaft rule, but even when you take out the 25 Showdown cars from last years top half qualifying at Indy, you are still looking at .950 under.
This is what many have wanted for such a long time, and was a issue with the FS cars not getting hp. Now we all can go as fast as we want in Stock and Super Stock. I would like to here your opinion, good bad or don't care? |

Its good... Indy is one week later this year. I live in Ohio, and that one week has the potential to change the weather quite a bit.. It is right about the time the fall weather starts to set in over here, and we can get relatively good air. Not east coast air, but pretty good for around here. That morning round could make the 120 under come into play .... frequently ..

I did fail to mention that the 1.20 would still come into play, but for most combo's it would be tough to get the instant hit.

Why can't NHRA just simply turn off the AHFS @ Indy and make it fair for ALL Stockers ??

That would be just too much fun. Ken, youdaman. I mean NHRA can only say No. Nothing ventured, nothing gained or something like that.

Sounds like fun for those who have the potential to show 1.20 under. Probably bad for those who are hoping some of the light factored cars get AFHS attention on a run at Indy so they get hp and average out the class better for next time there is a heads up run in eliminator or class.

Can't quite let all hang out because 1.20 under or more will still get you some horsepower unless you are one of the Factory Showdown cars. Well on second thought I doubt I could get to 1.20 under so I guess if I was going I could let all hang out!

Looks like about 40 percent of Indy entries will be FS cars. So that leaves 48 spots for the regular class cars.Probably will take about .90 under to get in the field.Hey Nhra how about a all run field.

I agree, ALL RUN. If they will take your $360. entry fee, then run everyone that enters. I want to support the Hemi Shootout, but also run the regular eliminator. When the fastest Hemi car last year was 81st, I have no chance.

I've heard rumors of an all run field from a few racers in the last couple of weeks. Has anybody else heard anything about this? It would be an interesting new twist.
How about all class winners get a first round bye. Maybe a little incentive to bring a fast car to the go with an all run field |
