Would it work better in a Malibu? the engine was made from 79-81. Got one sitting here, haven't found pistons for it yet.

Neat "Dime Rocket" combo! 81-82 would be the way to go. Just don't get carried away with it. Square bore and stroke, not a lot of compression and the front half of an 800 Q-Jet. Gonna have to build cylinder pressure with your cam choice and don't try to spin it too awful high. Camaro would be neat, 8.5 rear is easy and cheap. Malibu or Monte Carlo would need GN rear or aftermarket.

federal mogul did and should still have pistons, will be stock cast, maybe hypertec now.
any of piston companies could make forged versions if wanted and get add to approved list. Federal Moguls should work fine. Mike Taylor 3601 |

Found a free 267 in the Dallas area on Craigslist. Real small valves and not much of a cam.

1.375 exhausts. The dual jet throttle openings look way small, I will take a Q-Jet off the shelve and compare the primaries to the dual jet. Has anybody ever seen the specs on a stocker cam for a 267? Milder duration than a 305, I wonder how much more mild.
