What is the cause of this? This is fresh oil with six 1/8 mile test hits. Amsoil 10 40. The oil looks black. the picture is right as I tilt the bucket to one side and let the oil flow to the side. You can see all this soot in the oil. Is it contamination from blow by as I did have a cylinder leaking down. I was just running e85 for the first time.

Being no one answered my suggestion would be to get a sample and have it annualized.
When I use to deal with Black Bear in Farmingdale they'd run samples, no charge. Also you could ask at Motorworks, Sunrise Highway, Amityville if they'd do it for you. That's all I have! ![]() |

Did you run a break in oil prior to putting the Amzoil in? Some of them, such as Driven BR will leave traces of dark oil suspension.
