Default NHRA tech or lack thereof

I guess stockers can relocate shock mounts now? This is a pretty obvious thing for NHRA tech to miss...

Sad, I have a recent pic of a traditional SS with coil over conversion on the front? Who can you contact in NHRA for clarification of tech questions? I have had no luck on the couple I have sent. My questions had nothing to do about the above observation.

Can you mount the shock in the stock location with Caltracs?
What does NHRA do on cars where the shocks were mounted differently depending on horsepower, like staggered shocks on high HP Mustangs vs same side of housing with low HP Mustangs?

Have seen a bunch of cruise night cars with these installed to fit big tires on them.

I ask NHRA this spring if I could move my shocks to the front of the axel because of wheelie bar installation that got in the way. I was told no! After a lot of work I did get them to nearly stock position.

Now that you asked about shock location, NHRA will say it's OK if you put them where ever you want! That way they don't even have to bend over to look under the cars at all. Where does stock mean stock any more. As long as he looks like the year it's declaring, it'll pass tech. Oh yeah, but don't let your seat belts go one day over 2 years.

Guys a tech man is more concerned about your safety equipment than anything else It's up to the driver to build and legal car. Now if it's brought to there attention they no. Shock clearence is tuff on a nova

Tech does it's job, safety first. Problem starts in Glendora, first with the AHFS Committee.

Seen the higher ups override a tech guy more than once, sometimes the show of favoritism is so obvious.

The people who are out there working at the track for *HRA do a great job, especially for the pay they get, and the bologna sandwiches.

Been there, done that.
