I noticed the rubber bushing in my top strut mount( camber plate? ) is cracked and falling apart. My search at the junkyard turned up 8 that were in worse shape than mine. Found some in the shed that are in good shape but brings up the question, is an aftermarket piece available or is there a way to eliminate the rubber altogether? Junkyard parts are getting harder to find for these cars. I use an old set of Koni struts up front. Thanks in advance guys.

One option, the factory replacement upper mounts are still available. Check your local parts store for Moog or other brands.

If you go with OEM, I believe the Z-28's and IROC's had a bearing, where the cheaper models had a bushing ...

Jeff, will check that out. I don't remember seeing that before but will check, have access to many examples. The ones I dug out of the shed have bushings. Will price new pieces also. Nice Kit shown there, maybe in the spring time.

The quick fix now has been a set of junkyard pieces with bearings I found. The issue was glass beading them and having trouble getting that stuff out. But it it did work. Will look at aftermarket parts this spring.
