I would love to partake in the NMCA races but.... why oh why do they insist on scheduling their race (at least in Florida) on the same weekend as the D2 Points Race!! ( Baby Gators) This is the same thing they have done for three years now! Both tracks are NHRA (Bradenton & Gainesville) and are about 150 miles apart. For the life of me I can't figure this out. I have even emailed the NMCA powers that be with and asked with no reply. Opinions? Jim

Jim, correct me if I'm wrong, but the only real cross over classes between NMCA and NHRA are the Stock/SS classes.
So Seriously Jim, why should NMCA reschedule a race for that small conflict?

The weather is usually much better in Bradenton. Bradenton's track, for the most part, ( at least on the first day - for sure ) is usually much better than G'ville. Even though the NMCA Stk/SS Cars, and Drivers are high quality, the Car Count in Bradenton is far less than G'ville. The entry fee is cheaper at Bradenton. The payout is higher in Bradenton. So solely based on the fact that it never, ever rains in G'ville, I'd probably go to Gainesville. The cool aid tastes much better.

It's a little bit of a gamble because of the G'ville weather, but if you're serious, qualify at Bradenton on Friday, load up and go to G'ville. Run the NHRA race on Saturday. Come back to Bradenton for Sunday Eliminations. Ten or Fifteen years ago, that's what I'd have done. Today … not so much....On a different note, suppose the race in Bradenton was an IHRA National Event? How would that effect your choices? The fact is … there is absolutely no reason whatsoever for NMCA to change the date of their event.

Lots of flat out classes with maybe a dozen or less cars in them. Then there was Nostalgia Super Stock and Nost . Muscle Cars..Both breakout classes with far and away more participation than the aforementioned . To me , if you could bring in 20-30 more S/SS cars and crew members and fans, that would be a reason to consider using a different date. Just sayin'.
