According to the tentative schedule for Pomona, Sportsman classes now reduced to two qualifiers on Thursday.
Reduced entries per class and reduced qualifying sessions for a four day event. This is a "reward" for going to 7 or 8 divisional events? The hits just keep coming... |

Wasn't the purported reason for a reduction in qualifying runs at Pomona during the 2019 Winternationals due to anticipated inclement weather? (See pg. 56 of S & SS Forum-Pomona Schedule)
Also, didn't NHRA cite the 50th anniversary and extracurricular activities associated with the 2019 Gatornationals as a reason for subsequently reducing the qualifying runs at Gainesville last year as well? NHRA justified these reductions in qualifying runs during Pomona and Gainesville races last year due to weather and an anniversary version of an event. How did one-time circumstances turn into the new norm? |

Yes, they even ran R1 on Thursday...
http://www.nhra.net/2019/images/NHRA...ule_PC1_19.pdf In this case they even released the schedule a week earlier than normal so it’s obviously not weather related. Seems like they would make a statement if this is indeed the new norm. I’m sure we’re a raucous group for NHRA to deal with but if administrative and tech time associated with running class cars makes us simply too much to deal with I wish they’d just publish their long range plan for the class. Seems like the manufacturers would like to keep us around, after all you can’t rely on 64 FSS cars showing up to run for $1,000...or can you?

We are going away ... go ahead admit it .... they hate us we have all that stupid fuel check scales and heaven forbid one of us screws up and triggers their stupid ahfs and then a tear down and oh yea ever now and then we might protest each other 😳... face it they hate us >> and if we can run for class at divisionals (another oops that will be the norm no class at national events they hate that **** too) well we might not whine about being ousted from nationals. But hey we are stuck we have tons of $$$ in single purpose vehicles 😢😢
